Free Education for all Children

Mutty Lall Seal was a leading businessman and philanthropist based in Kolkata. He donated large sums of his wealth to charity and education. Seal's Free College was founded in 1842 by Late Mutty lall Seal.

The aim of the school is to provide free education, where all children cutting across caste and class line could learn together in inclusive manner. We prepare their delicate minds to unravel the world's mysteries.

We Serve the Humanity

Seal's Free College has been providing free education since 1842. Another instance of philanthropic service rendered by Mutty Lall Seal was the establishment and endowment of Seal’s Free College. Though he himself did not receive a liberal education, he made every effort to promote education among his countrymen, which would lead to the shaping of wider discourse of development. He aimed to provide free education, where all children cutting across caste and class line could learn together in inclusive manner.

The School is run by Mutty Lall Seal Trust Estate (Charitable Trust Board) which funds charitable endeavours to this day. Free Education along with books, tiffin, uniform and school bag are provided to the Students. Salary of Teaching & Non-Teaching Staffs are borne by the Trust Board.

Primary section is approved for imparting education in English Medium for both Boys & Girls. The secondary school (Class 5 onwards) is only for Boys affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

Primary Section

Primary section is a co-educational English Medium School from Class Nursery to Class 4, held in the morning shift from 7:20 am to 10:30 am

Secondary Section

Secondary Section is Bengali-English medium where the First Language is Bengali and all other subjects are taught in English, from Class 5 to Class 10 affiliated under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, held in the day from 11 am to 4 pm
